I've always been fascinated by people. Long before I became a therapist, I found myself wondering why people do what they do, what experiences shaped them, and what was happening beneath the surface that others couldn't see. I don't believe people are broken. I believe people make sense once their story is understood.
One of the greatest privileges of my work is helping people connect the dots. Those moments when someone realizes, "Of course I respond that way," or "Now I understand where that came from." Helping people better understand themselves, heal from the past, and have hope for the future is what I love most about being a therapist
I work with teens, adults, and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, church and religious wounds, and the unique stressors experienced by first responders and healthcare professionals. Whether someone is carrying the weight of painful experiences, feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, or simply longing to understand themselves better, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where they feel safe, known, and genuinely cared for.
My approach is collaborative and interactive. I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment Theory to help clients process painful experiences and create lasting change. Therapy isn't about "fixing" you. It's about understanding the experiences that shaped you, recognizing the patterns that once helped you survive, and creating new ways of relating to yourself and the people you love.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 22 years serving youth, first managing a group home for teenagers and teen moms in the foster care system, and then serving nearly two decades as a youth pastor for junior high and high school students. Those years profoundly shaped my belief that every person has inherent value, every behavior has context, and every story deserves to be met with compassion rather than judgment.
My Christian faith has deeply shaped who I am as both a person and a therapist. I believe every individual has inherent worth because they are created in the image of God. One of the foundational truths I hold is Jehovah Jireh, ”The Lord Will Provide." While my faith informs who I am, I deeply respect the beliefs and values of every client. Whether you would like your faith incorporated into therapy or prefer a purely clinical approach, you will receive the same compassionate, evidence-based care.
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University, my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, and completed graduate coursework toward a Master of Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary.
It is an honor to be invited into someone's story. I don't take that trust lightly, and I consider it one of the greatest privileges of my life to walk with people as they heal.
