My name is Cristina Cummings, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Western International University and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
I am passionate about helping adults and couples by incorporating a faith-based and evidence based approach to address anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem-/self worth issues. I believe in meeting my clients where they are in their journey providing a compassionate and safe environment while empowering them to learn about themselves, set realistic goals and work as a team to achieve them.
To help my clients I use different evidence based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. I believe that trauma and past negative experiences cause many of the pain and negative thinking patterns we experience today, and use EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help address the root of the problem.
I am a bilingual (Spanish-English) counselor.
Cristina completed her internship with Arizona Counseling and Consulting services learning and applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.
She recently served at Vineyard Church North Phoenix as the Coordinator of the Counseling Ministry and during the previous 5 years, she volunteered as a lay counselor assisting the pastoral staff with pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, and individual counseling. This experience allowed her to combine her passion of counseling while sharing her faith.
